They didn't make may additions either beyond Thibodeaux, so this defense will be inconsistent for fantasy purposes in 2022.

LBs Blake Martinez (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (hamstring) are dealing with injuries to begin training camp for the Giants.

Analysis: Martinez is returning from a torn ACL last year but avoided the PUP list, so he should be ready to take the field soon. Ojulari tweaked his hamstring in mid-July and was placed on the NFI list, but it's also believed to be a minor issue. Rookie fifth overall pick Kayvon Thibodeax should improve a pass rush that ranked 30th in pressure rate (20.1 percent) last year.

The Giants hired Don Martindale to be their defensive coordinator after ranking 21st in total defense (354.8 YPG) last year.

Analysis: New York exceeded defensive expectations in 2020 but was unable to build on that performance in 2021, and Martindale will now take charge after spending the past four years as Baltimore's DC. CB James Bradberry was cut in May with the team's only real replacement being rookie third-rounder Cordale Flott, so the secondary is a concern entering training camp. However, rookie first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux should provide an immediate boost to the pass rush.

Analysis: The New York D/ST had two sacks and zero takeaways as it predictably struggled to slow down QB Justin Herbert. Dallas is coming off a tough offensive performance after almost blowing a big lead against Washington, so QB Dak Prescott is about due for big game given his recent struggles. The Giants D/ST is a poor option for Week 15.
